Yeah For Spring Time in January!

I think my prayers have been answered this winter. I probably just jinxed myself, as we still have all of February to make it through but seriously, the last couple of days have been amazing! I can walk my dog without a coat!!! AND my office has been less of a freezer! AND I love warm weather! AND I think this was much deserved after the arctic tundra that was last winter! Bring on Spring! My outfit today honors spring!

Yeah for Spring Colors and a Spring Scarf! I love this scarf, it's bright and happy like the SUN...can you tell this weather has put me in a wonderful mood! Just threw it on with a t-shirt and some little neutral flats and I was out the door this morning! :)

Relaxing Weekend

My parents came up this weekend to visit and really because my new vertical blinds were (FINALLY!!!) delivered and my Dad needed to come up so we could install them. By "we"...I mean he did the work I "assisted" and my Mom watched TV and drank coffee. :) I think they look awesome, so much better than the cheap ones that used to be there. Oh, the things that you get excited about when you're 32 and a homeowner! :) Woo hoo! ;)
Other than that we relaxed a lot of Saturday, ran a couple of errands, then Kristi and Pat brought Maddie over to meet my Dad. After that, off to church and then a really good dinner at Gordon Biersh (sp?) to celebrate my parent's birthdays! All in all, an uneventful weekend. I basically ran errands all day Sunday. Now...Monday...back to work.
Also...my mom lost her phone this weekend in Wichita BEFORE she left town. Hm, I find myself losing things ALL the time. I FREQUENTLY say that I would lose my head if it wasn't attached. Wonder where I get it from. You will NEVER guess where she found it. She was embarassed to say. Yep, that's right friends...in the garbage disposal. How one loses their phone in a garbage disposal, I'll never know. But...she found it. I mean, it doesn't work. But it's found! :) Hope that brought a little smile to your face, I couldn't stop laughing!

OK, I forgot to post on Friday...so you get a bonus post today :)

Friday:
So, I completed my fashion challege of last week and successfully wore a belt every week. They are kinda constricting. Anyway, threw this little outfit together and I think this is the first time I have ever worn this top. Shocker. I really don't know how I wear all my clothes.

Jeans - Gap
Top - Ann Taylor Loft
Shoes - Brown Snakeskin Jessica Simpson

Jewelry - no pic, and not that exciting :)

MONDAY:
I was originally planning on something else, but when I heard it was going to be record highs today, I figured I would hold off on the boots for a cooler day and sport some flats :)  I like this cute, comfy outfit :)

Yeah For Thursday!

OK, so the week is almost over! It hasn't been a BAD week, I'm just ready for the weekend. My parents are coming up this weekend so there will be some tidying up around that house that needs to be done and possibly me (myself & I) taking down my vertical blinds. We'll see about that :) OK, so I managed another belt outfit today...I'm sure nobody cares about this challege...but it keeps me occupied. Not sure about this outfit today, I think I would just rather be wearing jeans. I'll let you be the judge.
I have had this blue skirt FOREVER and I don't think I have ever worn it. Today was the day! Pretty simple but I needed a belt and really, I do think this is cute. Just dressed up for me! I used to wear this kind of stuff EVERYDAY...but now that I can wear jeans to work all those clothes aren't getting as much use.
Skirt - Express
Black Sweater - Target
Tights - Gap
Black Patent Heels - Jessica Simpson!!!!

Again, no jewelry pics. Listen, I had to take out the trash this morning and something had to go. So no jewelry pic :)

Another Day...Another Belt

Fashion Challege from yesterday has been accepted. So...wore another belt today. It's the little things that keep me entertained. :) I'm going to say that I really like my outfit today! After further review of yesterdays outfit...OMG...I look kind of 80s. Seriously, kinda questioning my thought process yesterday. I'm going to chalk it up to running late and just trying to get out of the house. Fashion mistakes DO happen when a girl is running behind schedule! Anyway, much happier with today's outfit. Not much else going on with me, got to visit with Maddie and Kristi last night. Maddie likes coming over to visit me! :)
Love the stripes and the pops of color!!! I think putting the striped shirt on gives it a little something extra! I love the purple (um, cause I pretty much love all things purple) and mustard belt combination. Trying to mix it up with the colors! :) And there it is again, this awesome jacket/sweatshirt combo. I have been wearing this a lot. Maybe too much? Um, well, it's comfortable and I think it looks cute...so I think that justifies the amount of times I'm sporting it!

So, posted this once and forgot to include outfit details...how could I!! So, I'm adding them now!
Black and white striped T - Old Navy
Jacket - Gap
Scarf - Forever 21
Belt - Target
Jeans - Gap
Um, no jewelry pics today...sorry, busy busy! :)

The pressure of another belt outfit tomorrow is starting to get to me...stay tuned!

What a morning..

So, this was another one of those mornings when the outfit I planned did NOT work out. NOT cute. I hate it when a plan doesn't come together. I really need to maybe try this stuff on the night before, but then I'm doing laundry or feeding the dog, or walking the dog or cooking dinner or watching TV or skyping with my mom. Man. I'm such a busy girl, who has time to try on the outfits, too! lol! :)
So, long story short, I was running late and this is what DID come together and I was SET on wearing my sparkly Toms. I'm not going to say that limits my choices, because I do think the sparkly toms are a nice edition to any outfit...but I did want it to look like it all went together. So, here is is. Maybe a little boring for some, but I was actually quite happy with the result considering this was like outfit number 4. :)
Yep, back to the pink and gray! But...cute?? I also realized that today is Day 2 of me wearing a belt!! So, maybe it's belt week? Hm, we'll have to see if I can incorporate a belt tomorrow. Fashion challenge! Also, I'm tucking in. I'm going to say it...I think before I was not a fan of the tucking and I probably would haev made fun of someone tucking...but I think the tucking (I was planning on a more blousy top) and then belting is cute. I like it. Thoughts?

Single Girl in the City Weekend...

I know, the title sounds interesting...like I had a weekend of shopping, going out, excitement, and good stories. Um...this would be FALSE. I had an "all house clean" weekend...I know, I know...you're all jealous of my super fun single life. I came home on Friday night and totally vegged out...my DVR is seriously full and it was practically begging me to sit on the couch and watch some shows. Who was I to argue? Saturday consisted of taking Fred to the Vet (in sweats), then coming home and cleaning the kitchen and main floor (in sweats), and then running two errands (in sweats). I was FORCED to get out of my sweats to meet Nikki for church...I needed to protect my reputation of fashionista, so I didn't think continuing the sweats to church was a good idea. I also went to dinner with Kristi and her parents...I think they appreciated me putting on jeans and a sweater :) Then more DVR.
Sunday?? I left the house ONCE...to go grocery shopping!! Then home for more cleaning and then I made banana bread. Cleaning and Baking...am I a 1950's housewife or a 32 year old single girl...you decide. Wait..left the house twice because I didn't have vanilla for the banana bread so I was forced to go back to the grocery store. I also managed to squeeze in painting my nails. Then more DVR.
However, I was quite happy with my relaxing weekend. I'm not complaining...a girl needs one of these weekends every once in a while :)
I also picked out my outfit for today, here it is!!
Yep, Rockin the belt today. I have been wanting to wear this belt for awhile and today was finally the day. I couldn't decide between boots or heels with this, but finally just settled on the boots. I don't think I have worn these this season with the unseasonably warm weather...and I thought it was supposed to be nice today...so I wasn't sure boots were the appropriate shoe choice. However, when I was walking into work and it was SUPER windy and cold...I was glad I made this choice.
White Tunic - Old Navy
Cacky Cardigan - Old Navy
Jeans - Gap
Boots - Jessica Simpson (LOVE her shoes!!)

Now for the Bling:

Happy Monday Everyone...hope your weekend was as (mostly besides the cleaning) relaxing as mine!

It's COLD outside!!!

Um, hello freezing temps!!! I shouldn't complain (and, trust me, I'm thankful) but this was one of the first days where I feel like it's REALLY cold. Walking Fred was quite the chore...I kept saying to him..."Fred, it's so cold out here!" He didn't seem to mind too much :) So, really cold, but I really wanted to wear a skirt. SO skirt and boots it was! Now, lets not get ahead of ourselves, as I mentioned yesterday...I'm not the "wake up in the morning and throw on something fabulous" type of girl. Today was a perfect example of this. With seriously NO plan and the decision to wear a skirt coming to me this morning...let's just say my room looks like a clothes bomb went off. I had an outfit in my head that just didn't pan out...so it was on to plan B, C which really just came about because I mean I have to wear SOMETHING to work and I needed to get out of the house!! Seriously, it was bad, I even stepped on my dog because I thought he was a pile of clothes! Oh man!!! haha!!! OK...so here is what was decided on...hope you like it and that it was worth the effort to put this together.
I know, maybe the black top was too basic and boring...but seriously, the skirt kicks it up a notch, right? I think the skirt looks more bright in person. :)
Black Turtle Neck -  Banana Republic
Skirt - Old Navy on super sale
Black Boots (flat) - Old Navy

Seriously, had to move clothes out of the way for this picture....I didn't want to be too embarassed! :)

Just the basics! :) Hope you enjoy! Happy Friday, everyone!!! :)

My week in Review...

OK, here are all the outfits for this week...One Blog - One Week...get excited people, and settle in...it's already Thursday!

Monday I was still tired from the weekend and I traveled to Manhattan on Sunday with Staci for Corp Board for the house. We tried a new taco place that was really good! The pineapple salsa was amazing and the fish taco I had...it had some kind of sauce on it that you would seriously want to eat with a spoon. It's behind So Long and owned by the same people...so small little place...but, those are the best places to eat in Manhattan. LOVE being in Aggieville. It just makes the heart smile. Anyway, so I think I was litteraly dragging myself out of bed on Monday morning...but this is what I came up with.

I got this new little asymetrical sweatshirt jacket (that was a mouthful) for Christmas and I really love it. Looks cute as a jacket, but BONUS it's super comfortable like a sweatshirt! How can you go wrong? It's a combination of two of my favorite things...sweats and jackets! Genius!
Sweatshirt Jacket - Gap
Striped Tank - Target
Pink Scarf - London ( I just like saying that, but you all know you can pick this up at Target)
Skinny Black Jeans - Old Navy
Black Patent Flats (Movin' Shoes) - Target

I think you have seen all of this Jewelry before...So I'll spare you the details :) I feel like I get redundant with this stuff...but you can always comment and ask me if you're curious! :) One day down...three to go! Hope you're still with me!

Tuesday:
OK, so was under the assumption it was going to "snow"/"flurry" on Tuesday. And...maybe I just wanted a good excuse to wear my "Ugg" Boots again. So, at least I told myself it might snow and pulled on the Ugg Boots anyway....so no snow...but I was still happy and warm and cozy in my boots. So, all in all...good day if you ask me. I got a good nights sleep on Monday and was ready to go for Tuesday. I was like a whole new girl! This sleep thing isn't overrated AT ALL!! :)
Since I was so refreshed from my amazing sleep...I think I brightened it up a bit today! I know, another puffer vest...even my DAD has been asking me about where my blog is AND commenting about the amount of times I wear these vests. I told him "I love a good puffer vest" :) SO, this ones for you, Dad! :) This one even has faux fur...which I contemplated taking off for work...but then decided to rock it :) Glad I did, I know Vickie appreciated it! :)
Puffer Vest - Gap
Pink Sweater - Banana Republic
Scarf - Charming Charlies
Skinny Jeans - Old Navy
"Ugg" Boots - Gap

OK, so I guess I didn't take a pic of accessories for today...but it was just some basic silver that you have seen before :) 2 down, 2 to go! We're half way!

Wednesday:
So, my parents forgot to bring my stocking when they came for Christmas (for those of you that don't know, my stocking is the size of a small child and I refuse to let my mom get away with not filling it)...so I got a package on Tuesday night with a bunch of goodies! One of them being this army green scarf...I know, is there I day that I don't wear a scarf? I just think they are a perfect and SUPER EASY way to add color or pattern to my outfit. Cute and little effort, so I'm all about it. Anyway, just couldn't wait to wear this one. So, this outfit was born out of the need to wear my new green scarf.

YEAH....were back!!! Thursday!!! Today!! Thanks for sticking with me...assuming you did :)
So, last night I was skyping with my parents and making dinner and had to run errands on the way home...then after dinner it was ESSENTIAL that I AT LEAST take the decorations off the last remaining Christmas dec in my house....the tree. So, that was my after dinner task instead of trying to plan my outfit for today. Yes, I plan these things...I'm not a wake up and throw something fabulous together kind of girl...I think about these things. Hence...the title of the blog. I mean if I waited until the morning of...there would be clothes everywhere...and let's face it, sometimes it's that way anyway :) So, this morning I really had to think about this one...but when I remembered this sweater I hadn't worn...my outfit prayers were answered!
Um, so I mentioned that I liked leopard right? Well, honestly, leopard print is in this year...so I'm just following the trends :) This is another jacket that I got for Christmas that my Mom picked out on her own...she did an awesome job. This is also sweatshirt material but more structured (again, perfect combo) and this was has a satin lapel. It's so cute!
Jacket - Gap
Leopard Sweater (this is lightweight and 3/4 length sleeve) - Old Navy
Jeans - Gap
Heels - Off Broadway...I know you can't seem them. The jeans are flared and the shoes are little black booties.

Jewelry:
Again, I think you have seen this all before and I don't want to get redundant because I wear alot of the same stuff. Basically Premier and Target :)

Yeah, so all caught up. I feel better and less behind now! So, tomorrow...I promise. Post for sure.

Blogging Slacker or Hard Worker?? You be the judge!

I know....I know....my blog slacking has reached epic proportions! BUT, in my defense I have been taking the pics just not having time to post them (so, see, E for Effort, right?) AND I have been such a good little (busy little) worker that I am being a total rockstar at my job (right, Vickie?) that blogging just has not been something I have been able to fit into my day! :) SO...this day will have so many outfits, I'm wondering if I can remember where I wore them all :) So, here goes nothing! Happy Thursday everyone!!! :):)

This is what I wore over to Nikki's house for a "going away"/"get together" party for Bridget being home!!! It was super fun to have all my friends together and to get to see all the kids play together! I'm not kidding, my friends have the cutest kids ever! LOVE love, getting together with everyone!

Not sure why some of this pictures have this weird tint sometimes...I know it's me and my stellar photog skills! Anyway...so I really do love this "leather" jacket from Old Navy. It's a camel color and it was like 40% off and then I had an additional coupon...so super cheap. Anyway, love a good "leather" jacket! Plus, it's good with kids...if Madison drools on me...it wipes right off! :) Yep, leather jackets perfect accessory for wearing with children...I said it. :) Also...who doesn't love a little leopard in their life! I had been searching for a leopard scarf for this season and again, got this one before Christmas for some crazy % off and used a coupon! All about the Bargains...similar to P Diddy being all about the Benjamins! haha!

Apparently it might snow??

So, apparently it might snow tonight...of course it will probably snow during my commute home and of course 35 South will be insane! I'm hoping it's a non-event! I know I have been super spoiled with the weather this winter but I am never ready for driving in this stuff. So, I'l be crossing my fingers and hoping for the best! :) So...should have probably worn some type of boot to work today considering the weather forecast, but instead I'll wear flats and hope that this helps ward off any un-needed snow :) I did, however, decide to sport the puffer vest. Sometimes coming up with new outfits is hard and I wanted to be comfortable today :) I'm going to try and be more exciting and daring the next couple of days so I don't start to bore my blog followers! I would hate to disappoint! :)

Love this little green puffer, and I don't think I wear it enough! It's lined with what I would call "sherpa" material making it extra comfy and warm :)
Green Puffer - Old Navy
Off White Turtle Neck (haven't been able to pull out too many of these this winter, since it's like 60 everyday) - Gap
Jeans - Banana Republic
Brown Flats - Old Navy

Jewelry:
Yeah for more fun jewelry. Seriously, the way I store my jewelry is no longer working. My collection has grown too much and it's time to find a new system. My friend KT had some cute suggestions, but I just don't have alot of extra room. Don't get me started on my closet...its crammed. Anyway, thinking of getting some hanging compartments for the closet or something? Any other suggestions! It's out of control! Oh..and don't suggest that I stop buying jewelry. Probably not going to happen. I've come to terms with that.

I am SO ready for this week to be over. Bring on the weekend. I need some relaxation!

All About the Jewelry

So today I'm totally dressing around my jewelry! I got new necklace (when I was birthday shopping with Lori and Tay for Taylor's Birthday!!!)...and I have been wanting to try it. I totally got the necklace (ON SALE!) to go with a bracelet that I bought...so yes, this jewelry has totally been calling my name for awhile! I think I have discussed my love of turquoise in the past...and it's definitely making a comeback today! Also...totally dressed super cute yesterday for my trip home...yep my flight left at 6:40 AM from Dallas...which I totally didn't do the math and I had to get up at 4:00 AM...let me just say I was SO tired that taking a picture and blogging and writing full sentences would have been too much of a struggle. So, that outfit will have to make a reappearence and then I'll blog about it then. Needless to say, I was in bed by 9:30...anyone who knows me knows that's early...feel like myself again today! OK...sorry...random...back to turquoise..basically love it. I feel like this necklace is a total risk, not sure if the pics do it justice...but I thought it was cute, outside of the box, and matched! ;)
Yep, this pic might not show it off as well...and my shoes might be a bit of a mystery too? Maybe I was still recovering from yesterday when I took this pic :)

Is it too warm for a sweater dress??

Honestly, can't believe it's January 4th and I am asking if it's too WARM for a sweater dress. But, honestly, I am leaving town this weekend for the Cotton Bowl (Go State!!!) and I did laundry last night so I wanted to avoid wearing jeans and therefore avoid having to do more laundry. :) My solution, sweater dress to the rescue! :) I got this one for Christmas and I think it's super cute! :) Sorry I don't have more fun things to add...things have been crazy busy at work and just taking the time to post this today has been a challenge. I promise I'll be more entertaining next week :) I think the big win this weekend will help me be more spunky! Packing for the weekend tonight and have been planning this for like 2 days, I'll try and post at least a couple of times while I'm gone! I know you'll all be interested in my game day attire! :)

LOVE IT!
Sweater Dress - Old Navy
Boots - Nine West...again opted for a heel, I think it's a record this week! :)

Had to take the picture at work, had kinda of a hectic morning because the power went out in the middle of the night, I woke up...reset the clock, got up and then when I was taking the dog for a walk, the lights went out again. Luckily they were only out for like 20 minutes, but it just put me behind.

So, Do I Look Like Drew Barrymore?

I mean aside from the blonde hair, I'm pretty sure the resemblence is uncanny! ;) OK, so for reals...I don't come up with ALL of these outfits on my own, I am forced to go out and seek inspiration. This time, it was found in the pages of Glamour Magazine. Which, by the way, love that magazine and highly recommend it. So, as I was leafing through one of my older issues, I came across this pic...and I was like...I could totally do this.

Here's Drew: (don't want anyone getting us confused)

Here's ME!!!
Pretty much the same, right? Told you, uncanny! So instead of an Army Green Shirt, I did an army green jacket. I did a grey and white stripted T, skinny jeans...and HEELS. I know, I know..this whole wearing heels thing is getting crazy! :)
Jacket - Old Navy from YEARS ago

Um, forgot something...

Per usual, I would forget my head if it wasn't attached. Seriously. OK...I said I would post about my hair accessory that I wore on New Year's. OK, took this myself :) Enjoy! I really love it and think I should get some more, less fancy and sparkly ones, for everyday wear. They are perfect with my haircut. Lori, are you reading this? Think I might be making requests soon! :)
Just a little sparkly flower attached to a clip, UM...can you say LOVE!!! :) OK...now you can read down for today's ACTUAL post! :)

First Priority: Comfort

You will see that both today and yesterday have been all about comfort! Cute AND comfortable...and I do that mainly by wearing leggings. So easy...just throw on  a longer shirt and some leggings and boots and voila you are super cute AND super comfortable! Love that combination! :) I hope everyone had an amazing day yesterday...I finally went to best buy and picked up my Kindle Fire. Um, LOVE IT! Any of you that went to college with me might remember the game "Bejeweled"...and playing it constantly in the the basement computer room of Alpha Xi? Yep. Downloaded the app to my kindle. Can you say addicited. It's bad, so I can only imagine that I will soon find other apps and become equally as addicted. :) Needless to say, I love it! So, what did I wear when I went to buy this fabulous Kindle?? Good Question! :)
OK..just looked at my camera and it seems like I took the pic of yesterdays outfit without the memory card in my camera (left it in the computer)...anyway, the cord to upload from the actual camera is broken. So, let me just describe it? BUMMER! Sorry friends...technical difficulties. :)
I wore a long grey cowl neck sweatershirt, black leggings, and the scarf that Kristi Starr got me for my birthday with my black Steve Madden boots...that I am wearing today.

See, that just wasn't nearly as exciting as THIS :)

This is my HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TAYLOR outfit!!! I hope you have an amazing day, friend! I'll be meetin up with Tay later for a little birthday fun, I mean NO work AND Tay's birthday...sounds like a pretty awesome day to me! Have to go pick up my car today too! Woo hoo! :) She'll be ALL fixed up! Other than that, probably taking down so Christmas decs (super sad) and maybe running a couple of errands.

Wardrobe Change!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!! Party #2 called for a wardrobe change...so you get a bonus post! :) Lucky you...consider it a New Years present from me to you. :) I rang in the new year with some amazing friends! Two New Year's parties in one day and getting to be with some of my best friends was the best way end 2011 and start 2012! So, per usual, I went back and forth, back and forth...and back and forth again on what to wear! What I ended up choosing I was SUPER happy with! It's nice to get dressed up once in awhile and be fancy! Love this super fancy pink skirt, it's bright and just make me smile when I see it. It was a must have! As soon as I remembered the sparkly sash belt that I had tucked in the back of my closet...it really all came together! Hope everyone had a fun, safe New Years surrounded ny family and friends!

First, thanks to Erin O for taking the pic AT the party...no time to take one of myself...so the assistence of friends was much appreciated! Hope this outfit screams "Hello 2012, here I come!!!" to you as much as it did to me!
Black Boat Neck Sweater - Banana Republic (hand me down from my sister)
Pink Skirt - Zara
Black Tights (patterned) - Ann Taylor Loft
Patent Leather Heels - Jessica Simpson
Sequin Ribbon Belt - NO idea...but it was an AWESOME addition (if I do say so myself)

Sparkly FUN accessories:
Maybe you can kinda see my nails? I had some extra time in the afternoon and painted them pink and put litttle black dots on them. I mean, special occasion, so I thought I could kinda cheese it up with the nails.
Black Ring - Krystallos in Manhattan back in the day
Pink and Black Animal Print Bracelt - Friend made it!
Black Sparkle Bangles - Target
"Keep Calm and Carry On" Cuff - Vintage Pearl
Black Beaded Bracelet - Target
Aside from the Sparkle Bangles (on a normal day I would do plain) stacking multiple bangles and different kinds of bracelet is a definite "DO"...in my opinion. I can add that extra something to any basic outfit. So...mix and match!

Other wrist, wore this super fun (totally costume...and plastic! haha) Pink Bracelt. Love this and just added the extra bangle for fun :)
Also, had super fun hair accessories...pic of that to come later!!! Thank you for reading...and I'm excited for a new year of fashion fun! :)
