Can't Resist Color Coordinating My Race Day Outfit

Race Day on Saturday was an interesting one. The first 5 miles or so were HOT...like I was waiting to find may parents so I could take this jacket off! I was wishing I never put that jacket on the the first place...but for once my mom running late worked in my favor! They missed meeting me at mile 3 and let me just say I cannot be more thankful. The wind started to pick up...and the clouds rolling in....and then came the monsoon!!!! SO MUCH WATER!!!! Then, why not some hail??? Good Times. I was soaking wet an my shoes were full of water BUT....despite all that, in the middle of the storm another runner took the time to compliment me on my effort to color coordinate...in his words... "from head to toe" :) It was a bright ray of sunshine through the storm!

Yep...I'm kind of obsessed with matching my race day outfit to my shoes. Is that weird? I don't think so, I mean, I always have to keep fashion in mind!

Now I might have survived, but as for my phone, that was a different story! Goodbye iphone 4s HELLO iphone 5s. Again...good times!

Back to the fashion:

I searched and searched for an outfit and when I found these shorts, I was super excited! Pink and Grey leopard! Heck yes! I couldn't get to the register fast enough!

Not to mention I got my nails done on Thursday, and of course matching nails were essential too...so I have included my choice in nail color :)

Now, my running gear can't match my shoes every day , but I make the special effort for race day!

Rockin' My Maroon Jeans

Pretty simple outfit today, nothing to fancy! I just LOVE these jeans. They are a great color! My mom actually bought them for me for Christmas, with my "help" of course, and I couldn't WAIT to open the box! Waiting was torture...yep...I like them that much! I have also paired this with a dark gray sweater and a large statement necklace to show some other options. You could also dress it down with a gray and white polka dot sweater and flats.
I have the exact pair of jeans in the polyvore picture below. The top isn't exact, the one I have on is from Old Navy, but I really like the H&M option that I found below.
Hope this inspires you with color and shows you how to dress it up and dress it down!

splash of polka dots and leopard

Not gonna lie, this was pinterest inspired...I think pinterest is such a great place to get outfit ideas or at least a good color combination that you can put your own spin on and make your current wardrobe more flexible! I saw this one and fell in love...hello mixture of patterns...I love it! I'm really not up on "trends" and "designers", I just wear what I like. I try to try new things and be creative with color. With that said, I do that pattern mixture is "in" and I'm really wanting to try it more. I think I'm just dipping my toes in the pool with this, but you have to test the water before jumping in sometimes!
The polka dot blouse I have and bought at Express
The Gap Always Skinny Jeans are my absolute favorite pair of jeans. The ones I have on are petite and are the PERFECT length. I need to buy more pairs and I already have 2.
The sweater below is not the one I have, and I was bummed I couldn't find the brand I'm wearing online. Ladies, Nordstrom Rack sells these amazing crew neck sweaters in ALLLLLL colors for like 19 bucks. They are amazing for layering. The brand is Abound and you need to grab them up. They also have layering tank tops that I wear every day and I again, need to buy more and I already have 2. Go. Nordstrom Rack. Now. Like you needed an excuse???
The shoes were actually a clearance find at Marshalls, but every girl needs a cute pair of leopard flats, so just find the ones that you like the best. Target had a really cute pair that I almost bought...
Alright ladies, that's it for today! Happy Tuesday!

Sheer Leopard and Army Green

I picked up the GEM of a sweater on an online after Christmas sale. Here's the thing, my birthday is in December so I get all my birthday coupons that month...which is AWESOME because then I can get in on all the Christmas sales AND have an extra 15 bucks or percentage off. Typical of my, I put my Limited coupon off until the VERY end of the month so online shopping was a must in order to get the coupon used before it expired. I was super excited when I saw this sweater, I love me some animal print and the extra detail of the top being sheer was super cute. So, of the items below, I have the Gap Jeans and the Banana Republic Suede heels. I have a similar gold necklace, I got mine at Banana. The bracelets are just a close replica to when I chose to wear. Another reason to love polyvore, is I can give you a more up close look at the clothes...it's hard to see details in the picture. AND...you can actually link to some of the stuff (if it's not already out of season) and purchase it!
I wore this to work last week...hope you are having an amazing Monday!

My Easter Outfit

Like I said, you are going to have to bear with my while I figure out this in's and out's of this polyvore thing, BUT I have found where I can go find things that I have purchased and add them. So, you may not see my shining face in the blog post, BUT you will be able to see the things I actually purchased. Below...I have the dress from old navy and the necklace from charming charlies. The rest are just really close to what I own, but I am going to attempt to find reasonable priced items that I would actually purchase myself! So Happy Easter everyone, this was what I wore to church! Now...off to the grocery store and I think I might buy myself some flowers...just because! My Easter Outfit

Weekend Casual

I wouldn't say that I had extra time on my Saturday....but I will say that I made time to create more outfits. I seriously just can't get away, so I apologize in advance. Chambray shirts are EVERYWHERE so really...just find your favorite fit and pair it with a fun necklace and you have a simple but fun outfit. You can throw this on for the weekend and run a couple errands and then head to a BBQ or sitting on the patio for a drink with friends. I plan on wearing a similar outfit very soon!

Pop of Pink

I have been loving the bright neon colors for spring. I was just drawn to this pink and pairing it with a light blue top was the perfect neutral. Not too boring, but a nice shade of blue to compliment to the bright pink. This girl is always putting on multiple pairs of shoes in the morning. So...when you can't decided, I just provide options :) Hope this inspires you and makes everyone willing to try the bright colors for spring/summer!
